gifting travel -- a dream come true!

A note from Kelsey:

Since starting Travec, both Amanda and I have had a goal of gifting travel when our business was ready. This October we gifted our first trip to a Pink Sister in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Amanda successfully finishing her own Breast Cancer treatment! We opened up an application to all breast cancer fighters and survivors to apply for a spot on our Women's Retreat to San Juan, Puerto Rico in January 2025. To say it was exciting and emotional is an understatement.

Our winner, Amy Bryant (pictured with her kiddos on the left), was such an inspiration to us (as were the other 92 applicants!). Her application beamed positivity though she has faced much adversity in recent years.

Here is a snippet from her application: “I would love to be blessed with this trip as something to look forward to and as a celebration of finishing up my Chemo journey in December 2024. I became a widow in February of 2020 after and unexpected and tragic event. Our children were 10, 9 and 5 years old at the time. We were able to have a funeral for my husband and then one week later the world shut down during Covid. Our world was shattered and seemingly stopped so I really didn’t mind the global shut down as it did give us time as a family of 4 to grieve, process and love each other. On top of grieving, my entire identity of being a stay at home mom for the past 10 years was flipped to working 2 jobs to support my family and maintain as much of our routine as possible as I could. At times it feels like I had an unmeasurable amount of stress on my shoulders. However I am so very blessed that despite the loss I’ve suffered and my temporary health battle, I have 3 healthy and happy children and my support system is small but mighty! I may not be traveling with a full head of hair but I will always have my smile and positive attitude:)”

Fittingly, Amanda was slotted to lead this trip prior to her diagnosis or this giveaway came to life -- more on her story in a future post :)

We look forward to San Juan with all the women registered, especially Amy!
