itinerary highlights

Experience Kenya as a family, slowly and intentionally. This 12-day journey opens in Nairobi before heading to Lake Naivasha, then into the heart of the wild: days spent tracking lions, elephants, and giraffes across the Masai Mara, with an optional sunrise hot air balloon safari over the savanna. The trip closes on the coast, settling into a beach resort on the Indian Ocean for days of swimming, exploring, and simply being together. Throughout, families will find a thoughtful balance of wildlife encounters, cultural moments, and open time to connect—an intentional journey built for families raising globally minded kids.

about kenya

accommodations

nairobi: sarova panafric hotel

Set on a quiet hillside just minutes from Nairobi's city center, the Sarova Panafric has welcomed travelers since 1965, with African-inspired décor, lush gardens, and an outdoor pool offering a peaceful retreat from the city's energy. Rooms are air-conditioned and thoughtfully appointed, and the hotel's two on-site restaurants, spa, and gardens make it an easy, comfortable base for the start and close of the Kenya journey.

lake naivasha sopa lodge

Set along the shores of Lake Naivasha within the Great Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge blends thatched-roof charm with wide-open views of the surrounding acacia woodland. Giraffes and zebras wander freely across the grounds, often right up to your window. Spend the afternoon by the pool or strolling the winding garden paths as the sun paints the savanna gold — a peaceful, wildlife-filled retreat between Nairobi and the Masai Mara.

masai mara: sarova mara camp

Tucked along the edge of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Sarova Mara Camp offers deluxe tented suites draped in mosquito netting, blending safari-camp charm with genuine comfort. Days here begin and end with game drives in search of the Big 5 — lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and Cape buffalo — and evenings unwind poolside or around the camp's open-air lounge. This is the Mara at its most immersive: wild, close, and unforgettable.

diani beach: baobab beach resort

Set on 80 acres of coral headland along Diani Beach, Baobab Beach Resort & Spa is anchored by the roughly fifty baobab trees scattered through its grounds, giving the property its name and its shade. The resort unfolds across three distinct wings—The Baobab, Maridadi, and Kole Kole—each with its own character, connected by gardens that run down to over 500 metres of white-sand beachfront on the Indian Ocean. Three swimming pools, five dining venues, and a spa built in African-Swahili style round out the grounds, while the resort's rare position between Diani and the quieter Galu Beach means two shorelines instead of one—an all-inclusive stay built as much for families and kids' clubs as for couples seeking a slower coastal pace.

“I am so happy we got to experience this as a family and our group from Ada Vista was so fun. I love Travec’s mission and like I mentioned before, so grateful for your company to provide an opportunity like this. I hope our kids will look back and realize one day what an amazing experience they all just had!”

“All of this to say, this trip absolutely blew our expectations away.  We didn't really know what it would be like, but it was WAY BETTER than we could have imagined.  The families all got along so well, the food was fabulous, the city was gorgeous, and we can't thank you enough for putting this together and offering it to the Ada Vista families.”

"Our family loved the excursions outside of the city. The countryside is absolutely beautiful!"
