itinerary highlights

Experience Kenya the way it deserves to be seen—slowly, intentionally, and up close. This adults-only journey opens in Nairobi with visits to the Giraffe Centre and the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where travelers meet rescued baby elephants up close, before heading into the heart of Maasai culture for a full day inside an authentic village—sharing a traditional lunch, learning beadwork and dance, and hearing stories from the chief and elders themselves. From there, the journey moves into the wild: game drives across Amboseli beneath the snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, and days spent tracking the Big 5 and the Great Wildebeest Migration across the Masai Mara, with an optional sunrise hot air balloon safari over the savanna. The trip closes on the coast, sailing a traditional dhow to Wasini Island for snorkeling and a guided history tour, before settling into a beach resort on the Indian Ocean. Throughout, travelers will find a thoughtful balance of guided cultural immersion, real wildlife encounters, and open time to simply take it all in—an intentional journey built for adults ready for something they've always dreamed of.

about kenya

accommodations

nairobi: sarova panafric hotel

Set on a quiet hillside just minutes from Nairobi's city center, the Sarova Panafric has welcomed travelers since 1965, with African-inspired décor, lush gardens, and an outdoor pool offering a peaceful retreat from the city's energy. Rooms are air-conditioned and thoughtfully appointed, and the hotel's two on-site restaurants, spa, and gardens make it an easy, comfortable base for the start and close of the Kenya journey.

amboseli: ol tukai lodge

Set inside Amboseli National Park itself, Ol Tukai Lodge offers chalet-style rooms with uninterrupted views of the wetlands or the snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, with elephant herds often wandering just beyond the gardens. Meals are served al fresco on the veranda, close enough to spot game while you dine, and the pool and garden grounds offer a relaxed retreat between game drives—an iconic base for experiencing Amboseli's wildlife against Africa's most famous backdrop.

masai mara: mara enkaji wilderness camp

Tucked into the Siana Conservancy at the edge of the Masai Mara, Mara Enkaji—Maasai for "home"—takes the shape of a traditional boma, built from local stone, bamboo, and reclaimed wood and powered by solar energy. Guests are welcomed with a traditional Maasai song and dance ceremony, and the camp's deluxe tents blend seamlessly into the surrounding forest, with an infinity pool and open-air garden offering a place to unwind between game drives. It's a boutique, deeply Kenyan basecamp for tracking the Great Wildebeest Migration and the Big 5 across the open plains just beyond its gates.

diani beach: chale island resort

Kenya's only private island resort, Chale Island sits just 600 meters off the mainland near Diani Beach, reached by a short boat crossing that leaves the mainland's noise and crowds behind entirely. Set within a coral island of indigenous forest, mangrove lagoon, and powder-white sand, the resort blends Swahili-inspired architecture with ocean-view rooms, multiple restaurants and bars, and a spa—an intimate, secluded finish to the journey, with the Indian Ocean and its coral reefs just steps away.

“I am so happy we got to experience this as a family and our group from Ada Vista was so fun. I love Travec’s mission and like I mentioned before, so grateful for your company to provide an opportunity like this. I hope our kids will look back and realize one day what an amazing experience they all just had!”

“All of this to say, this trip absolutely blew our expectations away.  We didn't really know what it would be like, but it was WAY BETTER than we could have imagined.  The families all got along so well, the food was fabulous, the city was gorgeous, and we can't thank you enough for putting this together and offering it to the Ada Vista families.”

"Our family loved the excursions outside of the city. The countryside is absolutely beautiful!"
